Police in Edinburgh have recovered £500 worth of drugs after reports of a disturbance in Westburn.

The police received reports of 8 people with weapons dealing drugs at Westburn Grove. They attended the scene just after lunch time with two police dogs, PD Tora and PD Loki, who were able to stop two of the people after they ran away, and found discarded crack cocaine and cannabis.

A Police Scotland Edinburgh Social media post about the dogs said:

With reports of 8 people, with weapons, drug dealing in Westerhailes, #PDTora, #PDLoki & #S311 deployed. Some ran off, but 2 stopped when PD Tora “told them to”. Loki then found some discarded crack cocaine & cannabis. Enquiries continuing by @PSOSEdinburgh.

A Police Scotland spokesperson reporting on the event said:

Around 1.10pm on Friday, June 16, 2023, we received a report of a disturbance in Westburn Grove, Edinburgh. After a search of the area, drugs with an estimated street value of around £500 were recovered by officers. Enquiries are ongoing.
