Prospect Community Housing have released a May 2021 Update detailing their latest response and the impact of the Coronavirus on their services.
We want to keep everyone updated with our response to the current situation, and to try and help tenants feel connected to information.
Electrical Testing
As well as restarting routine repairs, we are continuing our electrical testing programme. It is important that we regularly check fixed wiring to keep everyone’s home safe. Some tenants have been concerned about allowing our electricians into their homes. All our electricians have the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and will follow correct social distance guidelines. We want to remind everyone how essential it is that we carry out this work and to ask for your co-operation when we ask you to arrange access. When you are contacted, please let us know if you are shielding or if you or anyone in your home is showing symptoms, so we can keep everyone safe. Dealing With Noise
We know how difficult everyday life has been for us all this year. We wanted to address the ongoing issue of noise, and to encourage everyone to be tolerant. But we also remind tenants that excessive noise is classed as Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB). We hope the following advice is helpful.
-Most people experience some general living noise, especially if you live in a stair.
-It often helps to speak to neighbours first to see if you can resolve the issue between you.
-Extreme noise should be reported to the police by calling 101. This makes sure incidents are logged, and helps the police mark out ASB hotspots.
-You can also contact your housing officer who will take details and where appropriate investigate further. Log any names or addresses you may have to share with your housing officer. It is difficult for us to investigate the complaint fully if you do not know who is causing the noise.
Cycling
Bridge 8 have designed a great map that shows cycle friendly/traffic free detailed routes around and through the city, You can message them directly through their Facebook page to ask for a free electronic copy of the map to be emailed to you.
Free Tests
Free rapid COVID-19 testing at Wester Hailes Library this week 9AM- 6PM for people who live LOCALLY and have NO COVID-19 symptoms. There’s no need to book. More information is on the library’s Facebook page and on the council website.
Cooking
The Health Agency is starting a FREE online cooking group for local parents. It will use a closed Facebook page, and you will be given a pack of ingredients each week.
