Two men charged over murder of Robbie Morrison

Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of Robbie Morrison who died three days after being stabbed in Dumbryden Gardens on Friday 22 August.

There have been extensive inquiries made in the last three weeks and this morning Police Scotland secured arrest warrants for two men aged 37 and 46 who are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Cunningham said: “Following the tragic death of Robbie Morrison the major investigation has made significant progress and today resulted in the arrests of two males.

“We have been supported by the local community and will be continuing our investigations in the Wester Hailes area of Edinburgh.

“Anyone with any information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or phone the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“Witnesses can still provide information in total confidence by dialling 01506 445 620, while a text message system is also in operation via 07769 239 691.”
