Edinburgh College has places available on dozens of new courses starting from this month with something to suit people at all levels of education.
Courses are beginning at the college across its curriculum to provide new opportunities and fresh starts, helping people get into education or progress to university, get onto the career ladder, develop in their professional lives, and to build their confidence and skills.
Spaces are available on courses in business, construction, creative industries, engineering, health, hospitality and languages, including programmes supporting people to get back into or progress in education, and professional qualifications.
The college’s new courses offer a chance to launch careers in some of Scotland’s growth areas such as the creative industries, with courses in Sound Engineering, Digital Audio Skills, Digital Media and Internet Technology giving students access to the college’s high-tech industry-standard facilities.
There are also opportunities to get involved in other key sectors such as hospitality and tourism, construction and engineering, including courses introducing sustainable energy technology.
Industry-recognised qualifications in areas such as management and leadership, and human resource management are open for applications from working professionals looking to take the next steps in their careers.
Edinburgh College also offers courses that ease the transition between different levels, ranging from Access courses that allow students to progress onto HNC level – with courses starting in August 2015 – and other advanced studies to employability programmes and pre-apprentice courses in construction trades. For young people and adults who have been out of education or work for a while, the college runs courses to prepare them for a return.
And there are English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses for non-native-English speakers of all levels who need to boost their language skills, as well as eveningclasses in modern European languages.
As well as courses within the college’s four campuses, various programmes are delivered in the heart of local communities to make them accessible for all and help more people get on track to begin new careers or education journeys.
