Making places at Westside Plaza

The Wester Hailes Community Trust and architects HarrisonStevens held a consultation event at Westside Plaza today, Thursday 14 June 2018, asking local people what they would like to see in the civic space located outside of the shopping centre as part of the Trust’s Making Places project.

The Making Places project is funded by the Scottish Government’s Making Places initiative. The session today is one of several consultations taking place across Wester Hailes, asking the community what they would like to see in a new civic space from more greenspace and nature, market stalls or places for people to get food, to better lighting, paving and a play area.

The Trust hope that the Local Place Plan will be used to support the development of the Locality Improvement Plan and lead to a regenerated civic square for Wester Hailes.
