Prospect holding Universal Credit information session

Prospect Community Housing will be holding an information session about Universal Credit for their tenants on Wednesday 6 February 2019, 5.00pm – 7.00pm in Prospect’s Community Room.

Universal Credit is a new benefit that has now been rolled out in Edinburgh. If you are of working age and your circumstances change, you might be asked to apply for it. We know that many people are worried about this new benefit and what it might mean for them. We want to make sure that our tenants know the facts and we want to help them find out what they need to know for applying and managing their claim.

If you are a Prospect tenant, you are very welcome to come along to this information session with all your questions. As well as some answers, we’ll provide refreshments! We can also help you with the following:

  • Checking that Universal Credit is the right benefit for you- speak to your Housing Officer or our Welfare Rights Officer Fiona McLuckie if you have a change in circumstance
  • Agreeing and setting up ways to pay your rent to Prospect if you are claiming Universal Credit
  • Providing internet access in our Community Room for you to make your claim and update your journal

If you are a Propsect tenant and have questions about Universal Credit but won’t be able to attend the information session, please contact them on 0131 458 5480. You can also find more information in their Universal Credit guide.
