Wholesome Chick Pea Soup Recipe

Feeling a bit cold and need something to heat you up?

Here is a tasty recipe for Chick Pea Soup sent in to us by one of our readers for our recipe section of the website by one of our Digital Sentinel readers.

Chick Pea Soup




1 onion
1 red pepper
1 bag spinach leaves
1 big potato
2 tins of chick peas
3 table spoons of olive oil
1 teaspoon of paprika
1 bay leaf
1 whole bulb of Garlic
Salt to taste

1 – Chop onions and peppers into small squares.

2 – Heat Olive oil in a pan and fry the onions and peppers along with the bay leaf, and whole garlic on medium heat for 3 minutes.

3 –  Chop potatoes into big squares and add to the soup along with Paprika. Keep frying for another 2 minutes.

4 – Add 2-3 cups of boiling water to cover the vegetables and simmer till potatoes are soft (approx 10 mins).

5 – Then Add spinach and chick peas for the last 5 minutes of the soup.

6 – Add salt and pepper to season

Serve with bread, rice or eat on its own! Enjoy!
