Starcatchers and Wester Hailes Library are inviting you to join them for a Winter Wonderland Window Decorating Day on Saturday 29 November 11.00am – 3.00pm.
They are hoping that people will make their own Winter Wonderland scene to take home to be part of a Narnia-inspired community window display trail.
Whether it’s lanterns, unicorns, icy forests, or snow-covered kingdoms, we want people to share their own interpretation of a Winter Wonderland. We are hosting a free, drop-in Window Decorating Day at Wester Hailes Library on Saturday 29th November to help you prepare your windows for the grand light-up on Friday 12th & Saturday 13th December as part of a community wide celebration of winter and the land of Narnia.
We hope the event will create a sense of community pride and feeling part of a shared winter celebration. Together, we’ll light up Wester Hailes with creativity, connection, and wonder – one window at a time.
The window decorating session will include:
- Decorating the library’s own windows with enchanting winter scenes
- Creating winter-themed artwork onsite, guided by artists and facilitators
- Free take-home packs with materials, ideas, and inspiration for you to decorate your own windows
This event is part of Fair Saturday which sees artists artists and cultural organisations around the world come together in a unique global movement to celebrate culture and support social causes. The workshop is supported by the City of Edinburgh Council & Fair Saturday Community Engagement Fund and supports the local community.
