Local MSP Gordon Macdonald has release his latest newsletter for March 2026.
The newsletter has details on Gordon’s retirement and how it coincides with the retirement of the Edinburgh Pentlands constituency. Due to the redrawing of constituency boundaries, Edinburgh Pentlands will officially cease to exist, transitioning into the new Edinburgh South Western constituency. Writing of his retirement Gordon said:
I want to express my thanks to my team, past and present, who have been tireless in their support, and to all the residents, community groups, and stakeholders I have had the pleasure of working with. Your engagement has been the cornerstone of my work here. Thank you, once again, for the privilege of serving as your MSP.
It goes on to contain details of the new walk-in GP clinic that has opened in the Healthy Living Centre, and that his office will close permanently on Thursday, 26th March 2026, following parliamentary protocol for the election period. His team will not be taking on new casework from that date but any outstanding may be passed on to the new MSP with permission. There is a a list of contact numbers and websites for organisations which can provide support and advice during the closed period.
