SCOREscotland is recruiting a Project Leader position for their Youth Climate Action Project.

The post is part-time, working 10 hours per week with a salary of £31,000. The post is temporary running alongside the project from May 2026 to April 2028.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to support migrant, refugee, and asylum-seeking young people aged 14–18 in Wester Hailes and surrounding areas to build the confidence, skills, and practical opportunities needed to lead meaningful climate action that is relevant to their lives and communities. The role involves organising inclusive and youth-centred activities in safe and welcoming local spaces and delivering informal, engaging sessions tailored to participants’ needs. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet project needs and ensure successful delivery. The Project Leader will act as a representative of SCOREscotland and consistently promote the organisation’s core values of respect, inclusion, and transparency.

Key Duties

  • Programme Design and Delivery: Design, deliver, and evaluate inclusive, youth-centred activities and events that increase understanding of climate change and environmental action. Support youthled initiatives and help young people develop skills in climate literacy, leadership, advocacy, teamwork, movement-building, and project management.
  • Youth Engagement and Community Empowerment: Promote the project and recruit young people to participate actively in shaping project activities. Build trusting, respectful relationships and support young people to develop confidence, agency, and positive community action leadership.
  • Partnership, Volunteer Management, and Reporting: Recruit, train, and support volunteers and sessional staff while maintaining effective partnerships with community organisations and stakeholders. Maintain accurate records, monitor project progress, and provide timely monitoring and evaluation reports to support learning and demonstrate impact.
  • Safeguarding, Inclusion, and Professional Practice: Adhere to SCOREscotland’s health, safety, and safeguarding policies to ensure a safe and supportive environment for participants, staff, and volunteers. Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion across all activities, engage in relevant training and professional development, and represent SCOREscotland’s values of respect, transparency, and community focus.
