WE MAKE WESTER HAILES is a new community project inviting local people to help shape the future of arts and culture in Wester Hailes. Led by WHALE Arts, the project will gather ideas, stories, experiences and ambitions from residents where we can create a shared Arts & Culture Strategy for the area, together.
We want to hear from everyone! Whether you’re involved in creative activities already or simply care about your community. Culture can mean many things, from music, food, languages and local history to community celebrations, youth culture, art, creativity and the things that bring people together every day.
There are lots of ways to get involved over the coming months, including weekly drop-in conversations on Thursday 10am-12pm at WHALE Arts. The creation of an arts and culture strategy is one of the 36 proposed projects outlined in the Wester Hailes Local Place Plan, created by the Wester Hailes Community Trust.
