The WHALE Arts Centre launched their new growing space last Friday in some early spring sunshine!
The launch had a variety of activities for local people to help out and join in the fun including planting and decorating pots. There were also a few tasty treats with cupcakes and a nice cup of tea available.
The growing space was launched with help from Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust and is full of edible plants. There are even some fruit trees planted with hopes of the area providing lots of delicious fresh food in the future.
Allan Farmer, WHALE Manager, said:
With the welcome support of ELGT, local people and community partners like SCOREScotland, the space outside the WHALE has been transformed. I am really looking forward to seeing what grows out of this creative collaboration – both in the ground and in the community.
