Two local pupils from WHEC will be taking part in the Scottish Poetry Library’s poetry by heart competition.
Poetry by heart is a competition for pupils across Scotland. It is to encourage pupils from S4 – S6 to help encourage them to learn and recite poems and to say them in front of a group. Two pupils from WHEC (Toni and Shannon in S5) will be competing in this competition.
Competitors have to pick two poems from a list provided (one from before 1914 and one after 1914) to then compete against other schools and in front of a audience. The competition will be held next week 19 November 2015.
