Wester Hailes library will be offering free rapid COVID-19 testing at Wester Hailes Library for people who live locally with NO COVID-19 symptoms: from Monday 3 May to Sunday 9 May, 9am to 6pm.
Testing is free, fast and safe. You do not need to book an appointment, but you will need to register when you arrive. If you have a smartphone you will register with this. If you do not have a smartphone, a member of the team will register for you. Young people under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Testing is for people who live locally – in Wester Hailes, Sighthill, Broomhouse, Bankhead, Parkhead, Dumbryden, Hailesland, Clovenstone, Murrayburn, Westburn, The Calders and Saughton.
The test takes around 15 minutes and you should have your result in 45 minutes. If you test positive you will be asked to self-isolate and book a seperate PCR test to confirm. Please don’t eat or drink 30 minutes before taking the test to reduce the risk of spoiling the test.
If you do not live in these areas, you can order free rapid lateral flow test kits online or by phoning the National Testing Centre on 0300 303 2713.
