Space hiring Youth Participation Worker

Space @ The Broomhouse Hub is recruiting a Youth participation Worker position working on their WOW (Wellbeing onto Work) Project.

The post is part-time working 18 hours per week split across two days, Tuesdays and Thursdays with a salary of £27,310, pro-rata. The post is temporary, funded until 31th July 2027.

The Youth Participation Worker will join a small team (two workers, one manager) in designing, planning, and delivering our WOW! Project, supporting young people aged 16-24 years to transition between education and employment.

Key tasks:

  • Co-design, plan, deliver WOW! group sessions to meet project objectives, carrying out meaningful consultation with group participants to ensure content is engaging and appropriate for their needs, whilst balancing funder requirements
  • Meet with young people to assess their suitability for project and to deliver appropriate support
  • Create promotional material and network locally, recruiting suitable young people to programme
  • Work with project partners to coordinate session planning and practical aspects of delivery
  • Track and evaluate progress of project to demonstrate impact and inform funder reporting
  • Maintain project administration, ensuring accurate, detailed records are kept for project activity, and attendance and skills development of each young person
  • Stay abreast of local opportunities for young people, such as community groups, jobs, work placements, further education, and volunteering opportunities
  • Source and commission external trainers/suppliers to deliver sessions where specialised knowledge and/or skills are required
  • Recruit and support volunteers into project
  • Ensure safety of participants and volunteers through assessing risks and applying safeguarding practices
  • Work as part of wider Community Learning and Development team to share knowledge and best practice
