The 2026 Wester Hailes Fun Run took place over the weekend with a great day being had by all!
The event took place on Saturday 6 June 2026, with over 40 runners, walkers, buggies and even a couple of four legged friends taking part in the event.
The Fun Runners went from Clovenstone Community Centre, a loop around Clovenstone then down the hill and along the greenway, around Murrayburn, along the canal to a loop around Hailes Quarry park and through Walkers before heading back up the hill to the Community Centre for a total of 5km and a well deserved medal! The runners were then treated to a delicious coconut chickpea curry, with delicious chapatis, salads and garnishes made by the Health Agency.
Alongside the race, WHALE Arts delivered a creative session creating sculptures out of air dried modelling clay with young people and asking “What do you love about Wester Hailes” in their first consultation as part of We Make Wester Hailes, which aims to make a culture strategy outlining the the future of arts and culture will look like in Wester Hailes as part of the Wester Hailes Local Place Plan .
