Wester Hailes library will be closing for a number of weeks from Monday 12 August 2024 to mid October to allow for essential maintenance.
Due to refurbishment of the heating and lighting systems, Wester Hailes Library will be closed for a period of around 10 weeks. Their last day of opening will be Saturday 10th August.
During this time they will be re-locating some of their provision:
- Bus pass applications, hearing aid batteries, food waste bags and period products – Find us at the South West Locality Office (The housing office at Westside Plaza) Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 10-1pm.
- Knitting Group – Wednesdays 2pm @ Sighthill Library
- Library Link Group – Fortnightly Tuesday mornings @ Sighthill Library
- Coffee Mornings – Tuesdays 11am @ Sighthill Library
- Lend and Mend Drop in – Mondays (excluding 12/8, 19/8, 9/9) 1.30pm-4.30pm @ Sighthill Library
- Book Group – Last Friday of the month 11am @ Sighthill Library
- Bookbug – Wednesdays 11am @ Clovenstone Community Centre

It would be helpful if the library had an answering machine that directed callers to an alternative number. I was unaware of the refurbishment and rang 5 times yesterday without any response. I eventually found out from the website.
