SCOREscotland is looking for volunteers for their new project: Together We Thrive– building cultural bonds in Wester Hailes. The project will involve weekly groups as well as trips, activities, and community events.
The goals of Together We Thrive are to:
- Foster positive relationships between New Scots and local Scots, building bonds and bridges between people from different backgrounds.
- Promote health and wellbeing, combatting and preventing mental and physical ill health.
They are looking for Advisory Group Volunteers and Project Volunteers.
Advisory Group Volunteers:
Our Advisory Group will involve volunteers from different backgrounds who live in West Edinburgh to help ensure the project is meeting our goals and involving participants in its delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Bi-monthly meetings
- Talking about how we can create spaces where everyone can thrive
- Planning activities and events that build cultural bonds
- Attending and supporting our activities and events
- Building community and belonging
- Reflecting on the project and how we could improve
Project Volunteers:
Our Project volunteers will help make our groups, activities, events, and outings possible.
Responsibilities:
- Being friendly and welcoming and creating a culture of openness and belonging
- Practical help with setting up and packing down the space
- Supporting with preparing refreshments
- Joining in with our debriefs and reflecting on what we are learning and how we could improve
