Local MSP for Edinburgh Pentlands Gordon Macdonald has released his latest newsletter for January 2026.
The newsletter has the news that Wester Hailes Medical Practice has been chosen as Scotland’s first walk-in GP Clinic and is anticipated to open by the end of February, funding for Wester Hailes to host a groundbreaking pilot project aimed at preventing homelessness, a consultation by Edinburgh Council to ban mobile phones in schools, that parents have until midnight on the 28 February to apply for over £300 to support children that are about to start school, a visit to Parliament where Gordon met a group of ESOL students from Edinburgh College, and the news that 837,000 people have received Winter Heating Support.
