Wester Hailes library will be holding Bird Fest next week offering a whole week of bird related events and activities.
Have a look below for their bird packed programme:
- Tuesday 5 May 2026, 3.45pm – Bird Themed STEM club (for ages 6+).
- Wednesday 6 May 2026, 2.00pm – Knit & Natter make a knitted pigeon for Newhailes House (for adults)
- Wednesday 6 May 2026, 4.00pm – Bird Story Time (for all ages).
- Friday 8 May 2026, 2.00pm – Bird talk with local expert (for ages 6+) – Join a local expert for a talk about local birds. (for all ages but aimed at primary school aged children and families).
- Friday 8 May 2026, 2.30pm – Birdwatching and Canal visit with local expert (Please note that booking is required and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult).
- Saturday 9 May 2026, 2.00pm – A bird themed craft (for ages 5+).
- Monday 11 May 2026, 3.45pm – A bird themed Zoo Tails session (for all ages).
Throughout the week the library will also be offering bird bingo cards with a list of birds that you can check off birdwatching on your own. They will also be providing a selection of bird watching books and information for people to borrow.
