Are you interested in creative writing and want to develop your skills and have fun at the same time, in a beautiful location?
There will be a free creative writing workshop being run by the Friends of Hailes Quarry Park with support from the Open University, Monday 4th August, 4.00-5.00pm.
Meet at the Herb Garden (by the entrance from Dumbryden Road – some parking is available for people with disabilities. Nearest bus stop: Dumbryden Road, served by Lothian Buses no 30).
The workshop will help you to draw inspiration from nature, whether you choose to be inspired by the herb garden, the meadow, or the woods. After an introduction to some creative writing techniques, you can go off and explore, and will receive some one-to-one advice from the workshop tutor. Please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather. You may want to bring a bottle of water. Notebooks and pens are provided. You can expect to produce the first draft of a poem or else the beginnings of a short story.
You can book your place online here. Find out more about the Friends of Hailes Quarry Park as well as follow all their latest updates on their Facebook.
