The Scottish Parliament Election will be taking place on Thursday 7 May 2026, with Wester Hailes now situated in the new Edinburgh South Western constituency. These are the candidates that will be standing:

Those who have registered to vote will have received a polling card with details on their polling station, but you can also find your polling place online here, please double check as there are some new polling stations with the new constituency boundary. As this is a Scottish Parliament Election you are not required to provide photo ID when voting. Polling stations will be open from 7.00am – 10.00pm.

When you vote you are given two ballet papers, the first for your choice of candidates for your constituency MSP, the winner of this vote will represent the Edinburgh South Western constituency, and the second for your preference of parties for the regional ballot, which will then determine the MSPs for the Edinburgh and Lothians East region.
